it’s a small world has been a magical ride for decades. During the Holidays, however, the nearly 15-minute boat journey is completely transformed into a winter wonderland.
Take a look at this ride video, by Beautiful Tomorrow TV on YouTube, of it’s a small world at the Disneyland Resort during Christmas 2019:
it’s a small world uses more than 300 audio-animatronic characters in costumes representative of their culture. The ride made its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair before permanently making the move to Disneyland in 1966 (the year Walt Disney passed away).
Here’s how Disneyland describes the Holiday version of its a small world:
“Set sail along a wondrous wintry waterway transformed with whimsical décor. Behold delightful regional adornments all along your world tour of good cheer. Listen as the costumed chorus of children sings a medley of traditional holiday tunes—plus the classic ‘It’s a Small World (After All).'”
The Holiday version of it’s a small world premiered in 1997 and now uses nearly a million Holiday lights.
