The creative, immersive, and artistic Meow Wolf company is now hiring for positions at its new Denver location that is expected to open this Fall.
Meow Wolf will hire 150 people to staff positions from creative operators to box office associates at Meow Wolf Denver.
Meow Wolf started in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2008 as a small artist collective that wanted to offer an alternative art and music scene to the community. Creativity has been a part of the company since its first meeting. At that meeting, each person put a word into a hat. The first two words drawn from the hat became the company name: “Meow Wolf”
Since 2008, Meow Wolf has become a national sensation for offering a unique, creative, and immersive experience that can’t be found anywhere else. An investment of $2.7 million from Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin in 2015 propelled the company to new heights. They were able to buy an old bowling alley in Santa Fe and turn it into an immersive artistic experience that brings in millions of dollars of revenue a year.
Meow Wolf recently opened its second installation, Omega Mart, at Area15 in Las Vegas.
“It’s a shopping mall for a new generation — a generation of people who value experience over possession,” Meow Wolf co-founder and VP of experience design Corvas Brinkerhoff told Rolling Stone.
Now Meow Wolf is welcoming its third art installation in Denver, Colorado.
“From a small group of DIY artists to the arts and entertainment company you know today, Meow Wolf builds from the ground up,” Erin Hirsch, Chief People Officer of Meow Wolf tells Theme Park Magazine. “Encouraging creativity from all levels of the company, we actively look to promote from within as we create and staff our ever-evolving art exhibitions.”
Meow Wolf Denver is accepting applications for all positions until June 22, 2021. They will then be holding a job fair at Empower Field from June 25-28 to evaluate candidates. Meow Wolf Denver is located in downtown Denver, between I-25 and Colfax Ave. Starting pay for most employees will be $17 an hour. Employment is expected to begin in August before the Fall opening.
“We’re inspired by creators of diverse backgrounds who work across a variety of different mediums and can’t wait to work with the Denver community,” says Hirsch. “The creative opportunities will continue after the doors open – we’re continuing to build our team of full-time employees and hundreds of collaborators who work to make art accessible to all and to spark conversations as we challenge the way each person sees and experiences the world.”
For the internal design of Meow Wolf Denver, hundreds of contributing artists and artistic organizations were brought in to form a unique experience for guests. The Meow Wolf Denver building is 90,000 square feet, making it the largest of all three installations.
