The Great Oregon Steam-Up takes guests back in time to celebrate the steam power, machines, & people who drove Oregon’s history. The event occurs at Powerland Heritage Park, a 62-acre campus of 14 museums that take guests to a bygone era.

Guests attending The Great Oregon Steam-Up enjoy a plethora of sights, sounds, and activities, including:

  • Threshing displays.
  • Train rides on a 1/8th scale railroad.
  • Rides on vintage trolleys from the early 1900s that operated in places like Blackpool, England.
  • A daily parade of hundreds of steam engines, old tractors, vintage cars, fire engines, and historic trucks.
  • Working Steam-powered sawmill.
  • Working Blacksmith shop.
  • Logging displays.
  • Vintage machinery in action.
  • Activities for kids, including a youth passport program
  • Access to museums covering tractors, cars, trolleys, trucks, trains, model railroads, vintage machinery, logging, Steam traction engines, and more!

Powerland Heritage Park – one of Oregon’s “hidden gems” – is located near Salem, the capital of Oregon. It’s less than 1/4th of a mile off of I-5, Exit 263.

S.T.E.A.M.’d Up for Kids
It’s like The Great Oregon Steam-Up, but for kids! There are many activities for children centered on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math! There are also many building and craft projects for kids to work on. This event takes place in May annually. Where else can kids drive a 100-year-old tractor?!

Train & Trolley Fest
If you like trains or trolleys (or both!), you’ll love Train & Trolley Fest. 2025 marks only the second annual event!

Powerland Halloween
This is an immersive story-driven Halloween adventure for kids and families. Kids go on an interactive adventure that features a story, lights, sounds, smells, decorations, and fun characters to interact with. And it includes a ride on a trolley!

Holiday Sparkles at Powerland
This is an annual drive-through event where guests can enjoy an array of lights, music, and decorated museums. The museums compete yearly for bragging rights, and guests get to say which outdoor display was their favorite. The event is free, but donations are welcome.
