Jurassic World The Experience Singapore

An 8.5-meter-tall Brachiosaurus towers above misty walkways in a glass-enclosed forest. Velociraptors prowl between ancient ferns. A Tyrannosaurus rex breaks through a shattered fence, jaws wide, as visitors stand transfixed by the spectacle. In an age where screens dominate our entertainment, something extraordinary has happened in Singapore’s Cloud Forest. Something genuinely primeval has taken root. Prehistoric giants now inhabit one of the world’s most stunning conservatories, creating moments that no digital experience could ever replicate.

Jurassic World: The Experience opened at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore’s iconic horticultural attraction, on May 29, 2025, marking Asia’s first installation of this immersive dinosaur attraction. The experience transforms the famous Cloud Forest conservatory into a prehistoric wonderland, complete with 13 themed zones featuring life-sized dinosaurs, including impressive animatronic creatures.

Inside the Jurassic World Experience

The journey begins at Brachiosaurus Falls, where two towering giants greet visitors against the backdrop of the Cloud Forest’s signature indoor waterfall. At nearly three stories tall, these impressive figures stand majestically among the dense forest as the iconic Jurassic Park theme music sets the stage for the adventure ahead.

Moving deeper into the conservatory’s misty pathways, visitors encounter a carefully crafted ecosystem of dinosaur species. Small Compsognathus are cleverly hidden between plants, challenging guests to spot these mischievous creatures camouflaged throughout the lush foliage. The hunt for “Compys” adds an element of discovery that keeps younger visitors engaged while adults marvel at the attention to detail.

High above, Pteranodons are positioned in what’s described as an “Aviary Attack,” creating a dramatic aerial element suspended throughout the space. The flying reptiles appear to patrol their territory from strategic vantage points, adding visual depth and prehistoric atmosphere to the experience.

The baby dinosaur petting zoo shifts the mood from thrilling to tender. Under the supervision of trained handlers, guests can meet and interact with infant dinosaurs, including a baby Parasaurolophus. This hands-on experience allows visitors to feel prehistoric skin textures and witness the unique bond between humans and these ancient creatures, at least in the fictional Jurassic World universe.

The petting area serves as a perfect counterbalance to the more intense encounters elsewhere in the experience. Children who might feel overwhelmed by the massive predators can connect with these smaller, friendlier versions while still feeling immersed in the Jurassic world.

For those seeking thrills, the Tyrannosaurus rex encounter delivers the experience’s most breathtaking moment. The animatronic predator appears to have broken through its containment, leaving visitors mesmerized as they navigate through a shattered fence beneath its massive jaws. Standing face-to-face with this apex predator, guests experience the full power of modern animatronics. The T-Rex’s movements are fluid and lifelike, its presence utterly commanding. The scale is overwhelming; at full size, this isn’t just a display piece but a technological marvel that embodies everything visitors hope for when entering the world of Jurassic Park.

The encounter represents the pinnacle of what Animax Designs has achieved in bringing these extinct giants back to life. Every detail, from the texture of the skin to the subtle head movements, creates a moment that transcends typical theme park attractions. It’s here that the line between fantasy and reality blurs most convincingly.

The Dilophosaurus adds another surprise element, occasionally “spitting venom” (actually water) at unsuspecting guests. However, nothing quite matches the raw impact of standing in the shadow of the king of dinosaurs.

Blue, the intelligent Velociraptor familiar to franchise fans, makes a special appearance. Guided encounters with this character provide memorable moments that blur the line between fantasy and reality.

A Living Laboratory: Where Botany Meets Paleontology

What truly distinguishes Singapore’s iteration from other Jurassic World experiences worldwide is its seamless integration with the Cloud Forest’s existing botanical collection. The conservatory houses more than 72,000 plants, with over 50 species tracing their lineages back to the Jurassic period. Ferns, cycads, and conifers that once served as dinosaur food sources create an authentic prehistoric backdrop that no artificial set could replicate.

“What sets Gardens by the Bay’s edition apart is a world-first educational showcase,” said Felix Loh, CEO of Gardens by the Bay. Following the highly successful Avatar: The Experience in 2023, the Cloud Forest has once again been transformed to host another immersive blockbuster show.

The Evolution Walk stands as the experience’s most distinctive feature: an educational journey exclusive to the Singapore location. This zone takes visitors back to a time before dinosaurs existed, showcasing reconstructions of ancient plant species that predate flowering plants. The exhibit demonstrates how flora evolved over millions of years, offering insights into ecosystems that shaped our planet long before the age of reptiles.

The horticultural team at Gardens by the Bay actively participated in creating this educational component, selecting appropriate plant species to complement the dinosaur displays and determining optimal placement for the prehistoric figures within the conservatory’s landscape.

NEON, a global leader in experiential entertainment, spearheads the Singapore installation in partnership with Universal Live Entertainment. The company brings extensive experience from previous collaborations, including Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. and Avatar: The Experience at the same venue.

“We are thrilled to bring Jurassic World: The Experience to life through a perfect fusion of storytelling, technology, and nature,” said Ron Tan, Group CEO of NEON. The company’s subsidiary, Animax Designs, created the lifelike animatronic dinosaurs using state-of-the-art facilities in Nashville, Wuxi, and the Middle East.

The choice of Cloud Forest as the venue proved instrumental to the experience’s character. Unlike traditional exhibition spaces that require extensive artificial construction, the conservatory’s existing environment provides a ready-made prehistoric atmosphere. The cool-moist climate replicates tropical montane regions, while the misty ambiance and controlled lighting create natural drama without additional effects.

Trent Wall, executive creative director of NEON, emphasized this advantage:

“The massive trees and lush vegetation allow us to show off the dinosaurs in a way that we can’t do anywhere else because usually, to get this type of foliage, we have to be outside. Yet, Cloud Forest allows us to be indoors, so there’s that controlled environment, but we still have that beautiful garden.”

Jurassic World Singapore: Tickets, Hours, and Visitor Info

The experience operates daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with last admission at 8:00 PM. Visitors should allow approximately one hour to explore all 13 zones at a comfortable pace. The venue undergoes scheduled maintenance closures once monthly, so checking the Gardens by the Bay website before visiting is recommended.

Ticket pricing follows a tiered structure. Singapore residents pay SGD 22 (approximately $16 USD) for children (3-12 years) and seniors (60+), while adults pay SGD 26 (approximately $19 USD). Non-residents purchase tickets at SGD 32 (approximately $24 USD) for children and SGD 46 (approximately $34 USD) for adults. Bundled options including admission to the Flower Dome are also available.

The Cloud Forest venue is wheelchair accessible, ensuring guests with mobility challenges can participate. An official gift shop within the conservatory offers exclusive Jurassic World merchandise, from dinosaur toys to collector’s items.

Jurassic World Singapore: Limited Time Until December 2025

Unlike permanent theme park attractions, Jurassic World: The Experience operates for a limited duration. The experience will conclude on December 31, 2025, giving visitors approximately seven months to encounter these prehistoric giants.

This temporary model allows Gardens by the Bay to host rotating blockbuster exhibitions, keeping offerings fresh and encouraging repeat visitation. The approach has proven successful; the venue previously hosted Avatar: The Experience, which drew significant crowds and positive reviews.

Early media coverage of the Singapore launch has been overwhelmingly positive. Reviewers consistently praise the immersive quality, the impressive scale of the animatronics, and the unique setting within the Cloud Forest. Dejiki.com called it a “must-visit” for dinosaur enthusiasts, while noting that the integration with the natural environment surpassed expectations.

What Makes Jurassic World Singapore Unique

The Singapore experience represents a sophisticated evolution in immersive entertainment. Rather than simply transporting a standardized touring exhibition, the creators developed site-specific adaptations that leverage the Cloud Forest’s unique characteristics. The Evolution Walk exemplifies this approach: a Singapore-exclusive feature that adds educational value while connecting to the venue’s horticultural mission.

This model reflects broader trends in the experiential entertainment industry, where successful attractions increasingly blend established intellectual properties with distinctive local venues. The result creates offerings that feel both familiar and entirely unique.

For Singapore’s tourism landscape, the attraction adds another compelling reason for both residents and international visitors to explore Gardens by the Bay. The experience broadens the venue’s appeal beyond botanical enthusiasts to include families, franchise fans, and anyone seeking cutting-edge entertainment.

In a world increasingly dominated by digital experiences, there’s something profoundly moving about standing face-to-face with a life-sized T-Rex, feeling the mist of an ancient forest on your skin, and sharing that moment of awe with fellow visitors. Singapore’s Cloud Forest has become a time machine, transporting guests not just to the age of dinosaurs, but to a simpler sense of wonder we often lose as adults. When the experience ends on December 31, 2025, the animatronics will be packed away, but the memories of that moment when prehistoric giants ruled a glass conservatory in the heart of a modern city will endure long after the last roar fades away.
