Whether on screen or within the action-packed pages of comic books, DC’s iconic heroes have delivered action, adventure, and even romance for over 80 years. Now, visitors don’t need to travel to the Fortress of Solitude to stand beside Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, because they’ve all touched down in San Antonio at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

Opened in 1992 on the site of a former limestone quarry, Six Flags Fiesta Texas has become known for its earth-shattering coasters, culturally rich entertainment, and immersive lands celebrating the spirit of San Antonio. On March 1, 2025, the park unveiled an ambitious new expansion: the new DC Universe. A collaboration between Six Flags Entertainment Corporation and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, this reimagined area brings to life legendary characters like Supergirl, The Joker, and the Dark Knight himself. With new rides, attractions, and theming, Six Flags Fiesta Texas now holds the title of the largest DC-themed area in any U.S. theme park as it welcomes aspiring superheroes of all ages.

A Hero’s Welcome to the Multiverse

When guests first enter DC Universe, they’re surrounded on all sides by superhero spectacle. In one corner, Harley Quinn might be cracking jokes with guests. In another, a detailed scene showcases the Penguin facing off against Batgirl, complete with an army of rocket-propelled penguins straight out of Batman Returns, creating a perfect photo opportunity. Overhead, the METROPOLIS Transit Authority carries riders in search of Superman, perhaps unaware that Clark Kent could be sitting quietly beside them, commuting to the Daily Planet.

Rather than representing a single time or place, DC Universe pulls from across the brand’s vast multiverse. Superman attractions evoke the Golden and Silver Ages with the art deco stylings of the Daily Planet. Batman’s presence blends the camp of the Silver Age with the grit of the modern era, featuring Gotham City landmarks like the Monarch Theater and the Joker’s Funhouse. Characters like Cyborg and Shazam bring more contemporary comic energy to the experience. The land is designed to feel timeless, less like stepping into one specific movie or series, and more like diving headfirst into a colorful longbox of DC comics. Whether guests come for the thrills or the nostalgia, DC Universe offers something for everyone.

An Arsenal of Thrills for Every Hero

The rides themselves offer a wide variety, ranging from heart-pounding roller coasters to more relaxed, family-friendly experiences. Thrill-seekers can burst through the doors of the Daily Planet and soar into the quarry on SUPERMAN: Krypton Coaster, or spin sky-high on the 17-story JOKER™: Carnival of Chaos, one of the tallest pendulum rides in the world. Meanwhile, younger guests can enjoy more playful adventures, like riding shotgun with “The Master of Fowl Play” on THE PENGUIN: Gotham City Getaway, taking flight around the Planet Oa on GREEN LANTERN™: Emerald Flight, or even giving POISON IVY: Toxic Spin a whirl, although it might grow on them after a few rides. For something a bit more laid-back, guests can board the METROPOLIS Transit Authority, offering scenic views 17 feet above ground, no X-ray vision required.

Immersion has long been a hallmark of Six Flags Fiesta Texas, whether it is the energy of a Mexican fiesta, the charm of retro Americana, or the buzz of the modern esports scene. DC Universe continues that tradition. On JOKER™: Carnival of Chaos, guests step through the Clown Prince of Crime’s twisted funhouse before facing his scream-inducing contraption. On the METROPOLIS Transit Authority, they ride through the City of Tomorrow, complete with retro-futuristic monorails and ads for LexCorp. Even on CYBORG: Cyber Revolution, guests become immersed as they spin on high-tech mechanical arms, caught in the middle of a digital showdown that they can hear happening all around them.

Heroic Souvenirs and Super Bites

For those in search of souvenirs, the Daily Planet carries a mountain of memorabilia dedicated to the Man of Steel, while Gotham City Gift Shop offers plenty to honor the Caped Crusader. Guests will find the usual t-shirts, glassware, and keychains, but younger visitors tend to gravitate toward superhero capes emblazoned with everyone from Superman to Nightwing. Meanwhile, after a day of heroic adventures, Planet Krypton offers a satisfying pit stop, serving pizza and other quick bites for those battling hunger more than supervillains.

Like the rest of Six Flags Fiesta Texas, DC Universe’s landscape offers something for everyone, from coaster fanatics to younger heroes-in-training. Around every corner is a familiar face or setting lifted straight from the comics, making it a dream for superhero fans and a goldmine for photo ops. Guests can snap selfies beside posters of Man-Bat, or strike a pose beneath a Greek archway where Wonder Woman stands in full Amazonian glory. As a whole, DC Universe is where guests can embrace their inner hero or unleash their favorite supervillain and experience a land that celebrates the legacy, imagination, and excitement that have defined DC for generations.
