Editor’s Note: The park’s full name is Universal Epic Universe. After the first mention, this article simply refers to it as “Epic Universe.”
When Universal Orlando Resort opens Universal Epic Universe on May 22, 2025, guests will experience not only new attractions across five imaginative worlds but also an extensive collection of themed dining options. Universal’s culinary team has developed more than 100 new menu items across many dining locations, making food an integral part of the overall theme park experience.
Celestial Park: The Culinary Hub
Celestial Park, serving as the central area of Epic Universe, features the most dining spots in Epic Universe, offering a wide range of cuisines. The Atlantic restaurant, positioned across Neptune’s Pool, focuses on seafood offerings. Its Sea Bass comes with carrot mochi and sugar snap peas in a lemongrass broth, garnished with starfruit slices. For younger visitors, the Landlubber’s Snickerdoodle Loot presents a beach-themed dessert served in a pail with cookie butter ganache and “Biscoff sand” complete with gummy sharks.
The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant allows guests to dine under constellation décor and neon dragon accents. Their Tonkotsu Ramen includes ramen noodles in pork broth topped with chashu pork, tare egg, and shiitake mushrooms with togarashi oil. Pizza Moon offers several pizza options, including the Harvest Moon Pizza, a vegan option with tomato sauce, grilled artichoke hearts, and roasted peppers topped with olives and arugula.
Comet Dogs specializes in globally-inspired hot dogs, featuring options like the Bulgogi Dog, the Al Pastor Dog, and a vegan Smoky Carrot Dog. The Oak & Star Tavern offers smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork, or spit-roasted chicken paired with sides like braised greens and mac and cheese. Additional quick-service options include Meteor Astropub, Frosty Moon, and Star Sui Bao.
For beverages, Celestial Park provides several specialty options across locations like Bar Zenith and Celestiki. The Meteor Strike at Bar Zenith combines light rum, triple sec, lime and pineapple juices with lemon-lime soda and edible gold glitter. Celestiki serves the Waturi Punch, a blend of rum, bitters, and fruit juices. Non-alcoholic choices include Khaosan Boba with Thai-inspired milk tea and coffee boba.
Ministry of Magic: French-Inspired Wizarding Cuisine
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic transports guests to 1920s Paris with French-inspired magical cuisine. For the first time, visitors can try a Butterbeer Crêpe at Café L’air De La Sirène, featuring shortbread cookie butter, Bavarian cream, and Butterbeer cream with fresh strawberries and a Butterbeer shortbread cookie. Savory options include the Baguette de Dinde with cracked black pepper turkey, arugula, apples, and Brie on a warm baguette with mustard butter.
Le Gobelet Noir serves the Alchemist’s Platter with smoked sausage, pierogies, pickled eggs, marinated beets, and a warm pretzel with German mustard and cheese fondue. Vegan visitors can select the Lentil Stew with vegan bacon and root vegetables served with artisan bread. For those seeking traditional Butterbeer, the Bièraubeurre cart offers cold, hot, frozen, and non-dairy versions of the wizarding world’s signature beverage.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: Gaming-Inspired Food
In SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, guests can find Nintendo-inspired dishes at Toadstool Cafe and Yoshi’s Snack Island. The Mario Burger comes with mushrooms, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese on a brioche bun with truffle fries. The Luigi Burger features grilled chicken with basil pesto, Swiss cheese, green peppers, and spinach.
For a more substantial option, the Bowser’s Fireball Challenge presents a one-pound meatball topped with mozzarella in mushroom marinara sauce, served with a Bowser-inspired puff pastry and hot sauce. Yoshi’s Snack Island offers the Apple Melon Smoothie, a blend of Granny Smith apple and honeydew syrup topped with whipped cream and green apple bursting boba, along with calzone options. In Donkey Kong Country, the Bubbly Barrel provides jungle-themed refreshments, including the tropical banana-flavored DK Crush Float.
Isle of Berk: Norse-Inspired Dining
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk delivers hearty Norse-inspired meals designed for dragon trainers across three main dining locations. The Mead Hall‘s Thawfest Platter includes chicken drumsticks in wild berry BBQ glaze, grilled salmon, and sausage with roasted vegetables, cipollini onions, and Nordic fries.
Spit Fyre Grill specializes in customizable bowls, including Stoick’s Steak Bowl, Hiccup’s Salmon Bowl, Meatlug’s Chicken Bowl, Astrid’s Shrimp Bowl, and Valka’s Vegan Bowl. Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel offers a selection of Mac and Cheese Cones served in hollowed-out bread loaves.
Plant-based options at Mead Hall include the Nordic Harvest Salad with kale, arugula, red cabbage, radishes, ancient grains, blueberries, apples, and trail mix with raspberry vinaigrette. The Yaknog drink combines malted chocolate and cinnamon topped with whipped cream. For a dessert option, Stormfly’s Catch of the Day features a chocolate mousse fish atop crispy rice cereal.
Dark Universe: Monster-Themed Meals
In Dark Universe, Das Stakehaus, The Burning Blade Tavern, and De Lacey’s Cottage offer themed meals fitting the monster-filled environment. The appropriately named Stakes at Das Stakehaus presents protein options on actual stakes – Fish on a Stake (blackened salmon), Bird on a Stake (grilled chicken), or Bits and Pieces (wild mushroom brisket meatloaf), all served with roasted vegetables and charred green onion mashed potatoes.
The “Blood” Orange Chicken Sandwich features flash-fried chicken in blood orange sauce inside a black bun with pickles, slaw, and fries. Vegan visitors can try Our Favorite Vegan Familiar’s Stuffed Cabbage with plant-based meat wrapped in cabbage leaves with bell pepper tomato sauce and beet bucatini. The Burning Blade Tavern offers a cheesy Hunter’s Garlic Stake pretzel with garlic dipping sauce. For those with a sweet tooth, Das Stakehaus serves the Red Velvet Death, a coffin-shaped red velvet cake made with beets for a naturally blood-red color.
With these themed food options across its five worlds, Epic Universe expands Universal Orlando’s dining offerings significantly when it opens on May 22, 2025. The park’s food and beverage program has been designed to complement the themed environments, allowing guests to further immerse themselves in each of the park’s distinct realms.
