Radiator Springs Racers, located in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, is considered one of the top “dark rides” at any theme park. Themed to the popular Disney/Pixar Cars franchise, the ride begins with guests boarding a two-row six-person car. Then it’s off to the races!

Below are two different point-of-view ride videos of Radiator Springs Racers; one shot during the day and the other at night.

Radiator Springs Racers Ride Description

Your ride begins with a scenic drive through Ornament Valley where you come upon several audio-animatronic vehicles. A series of near-miss collisions leads to a tense moment… Can you beat the train over the crossing? Narrowly!

After your car swerves to avoid the train, the Sheriff suddenly appears with his lights on warning you to “Slow down! You’re not racing yet!” He advises you to follow Mater to the location of the big race.

On the way to the race, Mater involves you in a game of “tractor tipping” which doesn’t last long as an angry Frank chases you off his farm.

Arriving in town, you drive past several other friends including Fillmore, Sarge, Lightning McQueen, and Sally. You then either:

  1. Get a tire change at Luigi’s Casa Della Tires on the left track. Or…
  2. Get a fresh coat of paint at Ramone’s House of Body Art on the right track.

Now you are ready to race! Your car reaches the start line with another car. Luigi waves the flag and the race begins!

The cars accelerate on parallel tracks out of the cave, traveling over hills and around turns, reaching speeds of 40 mph. The first car to the finish line is declared the winner!

After the race, you take a lovely spin through Taillight Caverns where Mater and McQueen congratulate you on a good race.
