Whether through a wand, a wrench, or a keyboard, imagination has always been the cornerstone of theme park creation. With the new Sorcery Pack, Planet Coaster 2 channels that same spirit, putting the power of theming and immersion directly into players’ hands. After all, it’s those details that transform steel and stone into living adventures, worlds so convincing they might even impress a seasoned Transfiguration professor. And for every guest who has ever wandered through a ride queue and thought they would design it differently, or posted wild blueprints online hoping an Imagineer might notice, this is where those dreams finally take shape. In the digital world of Planet Coaster 2, dream parks become theme parks, and a little magic goes a long way.
Frontier Developments: A Legacy of Creation
When Frontier Developments first released Planet Coaster in 2016, players knew they were in for a wild ride. The business simulator gave fans the freedom to design and share attractions, rides, and shops while managing the challenges of keeping their parks safe, profitable, and fun. Widely regarded as the most innovative roller coaster game since the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, it quickly built a dedicated community. Naturally, excitement was high when its sequel, Planet Coaster 2, launched in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. With new features, gameplay improvements, and the long-awaited addition of water parks, the game continues to evolve. The Sorcery Pack is the latest expansion, pushing the limits of what players can imagine, much like the coasters at the heart of the series.
After being invited to “Create a Splash” with the game’s aquatic features, Planet Coaster 2 players are now preparing to make some magic. Inspired by some of the most breathtaking fantasy attractions around the globe, the Sorcery Pack lets creators conjure their own enchanted worlds, where wizards roam, spellbound castles tower above the skyline, and guests take flight on rides fueled by pure imagination. For those still waiting on that owl-delivered invitation to a certain magical school, here is a chance to build one instead.
Enchanted Engineering: The New Planet Coaster 2 Attractions
Naturally, in the upcoming expansion, the rides take center stage. The DLC includes two new roller coasters and two flat rides:
- OUTAMAX – LSM Raid Coaster: Channels a bit of Marauder-style mischief with swing launches and switching tracks designed to keep riders guessing with a little technological trickery.
- OUTAMAX – Bike and Sidecar: Offers a high-speed chase across the skies, with guests boarding motorbikes and racing through a steel-guided adventure.
- Flying Theater: Immerses audiences in a one-of-a-kind experience, lifting them into the cosmos for a breathtaking tour.
- Gale Force: Delivers pendulum-style pandemonium for those who crave conjured-up chaos, swinging guests high above the park.
For younger visitors, the VECTOR – Child Coaster provides gentler thrills, allowing families to embark together on an enchanting journey through the park.
More Than Rides Alone
Beyond the attractions, the Sorcery Pack opens up a trove of theming tools. Players can line paths with whimsical shops, design towering fortresses, and stage rooftop duels where animatronic sorcerers clash under enchanted lanterns. Additionally, players can now gasp alongside their guests on the ground as cauldrons bubble, gargoyles leer, and mystical lighting effects set the stage for unforgettable adventures. Even Vesper, a new walk-around mascot, adds to the magic, dazzling guests with tricks conjured from their spinning spellbook.
A Free Spell for All Players
Outside the Sorcery Pack, Frontier Developments is also rolling out a free update for all Planet Coaster 2 players with several quality-of-life improvements:
- A new challenge mode
- Improved path-building tools
- 3-axis grid rotation for structures
- A moving radial platform
The Ultimate Flight of Fancy
The Sorcery Pack is more than an add-on; it’s the stuff theme park dreams are made of. Parks like Universal, Disney, and Dollywood may deliver these experiences in real life, but Planet Coaster 2 offers a frontier of possibilities where imagination sets the boundaries. Here, creators are not just watching digital guests enjoy the worlds they built grid by grid; they’re sitting beside them in the ultimate flight of fancy. Because in the end, as any good wizarding mentor will teach you, magic comes down to the will to create, the belief in the extraordinary, and the thrill of wonder that comes from it all.
The Sorcery Pack releases on September 16th, 2025.
